Fossibles' Programs For Elementary School/Libraries

Chasem2 Productions LLC offers two unique programs for elementary schools and libraries. These programs can be tailored to each and every situation.

If a different type of program is preferred, we will customize a program to meet your specific needs.

Option 1: Authors Up Close
(Primarily for Children in Grades 2Ð5)

  1. School or library purchases a quantity of the book, The Fossibles: Bursting from Extinction to Distinction, for the children to read prior to the on-site part of the program. (Chasem2 Productions offers a 15% discount off the $8.95 retail price when sold to schools/libraries.)
  2. School or library schedules a date for authors Heather Rancourt and Claudia Gauches to visit and discuss the book and the process of writing it with the children.

Key Points include:

  • How we came up with the idea for the book
  • How we wrote the book together as a team
  • How we draw from our own lives when writing
  • The process of writing a book (outline, draft, editing, spelling/grammar, redrafts, etc.)
  • How the story and characters evolve and the characters almost begin to talk to us as writers
  • Our plans for other Fossibles books in the series
  • Discussions with the kids concerning what they liked/disliked about the book, their plot ideas, questions left unanswered within the pages of the book, general Q&A.
  • Book signing by authors available at the end of the session.

Description: An interactive and educational performance where kids learn about Australian culture, music, and more through the eyes of the Fossibles, a new 3D animated cartoon featuring five loveable dinosaurs. This entertaining story is told by Heather Rancourt, creator of the Fossibles, who stars as Pyper La Rue, captivating storyteller. Audience participation allows the children to learn various facts about Australia including: geographical landmarks, weather, animals, and instruments.

Show Segments

Introduction: The show begins with a brief introduction of the Fossible characters -- five dinosaurs, raised as humans and possessing super powers, who navigate through the past, present and into the future to fight off evil and prevent disasters. Pyper LaRue, storyteller, introduces the Fossibles as her new, secret friends that she wants to tell the kids about.

Trailer: Children view the 3D trailer of the Fossibles that shows these superheroes in action. The Fossibles are a team of five cool, courageous, computer-literate, motorcycle-riding dinosaurs with super powers that travel on missions all over the world. Imbued with special powers and armed with high-tech gadgets, these contemporary dinosaurs prefer to use their powers to help solve crimes and prevent disasters. A formidable team of three boys and two girls, the Fossibles possess strong values and continuously persevere in the classic theme of good overcoming evil. Their mantra, anything's fossible!, is the theme song that plays on the trailer.

Interactive: The Fossibles' creator, Heather Rancourt, appearing in costume as Pyper La Rue, tells the children about one of the Fossibles' exciting missions to Australia. Through her unique brand of storytelling, the children learn about Australian and aboriginal culture. They are shown an authentic didgeridoo (one of the oldest wind instruments in the world), pictures of Ayres Rock (one of the natural wonders of the world), and learn about animals that inhabit Australia, like the emu, koala, and kangaroo. The session is highly interactive. At one point in her presentation, Pyper LaRue takes a phone call from her new friends, the Fossibles, and they wish the kids all the best. This program creates a high level of energy and the children end up remembering something about Australia and everything about the Fossibles'mantra, Anything's Fossible!

Fee: $350 plus travel. Discounts apply to multiple programs conducted on same day.

With permission, The Fossibles: Bursting from Extinction to Distinction can be made available for purchase by the children after the show at a discounted rate.
